Okay, so today I was feeling crappy after a blood test so I decided to practice up on my Petalwyrms again in preparation for finishing my customs. This is what happened: I made a ref sheet and three more characters. Just my luck.

A note for all current customs owners (from before 7/28/14): If you wish to add traits from this sheet onto your petalwyrm, feel free to add up to two uncommon traits if you don't have them already. For Rare traits or additional uncommon traits, please contact me first. Thank you.

Customs are still open as well

MORE SPECIES INFORMATION:

 Petalwyrm Variations Chart by NinjaScrag

Petalwyrms are not an exceptionally sentient species, and are largely incapable of speech. Few are able to figure out much complex machinery or tool craft, but rudimentary crafts are not uncommon.

Most are very tame and friendly, getting along with creatures of other species easily. It is rare for a petalwyrm to be exceptionally aggressive, but hot tempered individuals pop up from time to time.

These creatures prefer flowery landscapes that are free of very grainy ground or exceptional dust and dirt. They are very cleanly creatures, mainly because of their adhesive scale patches, so dirt and sand can become quickly frustrating for any petalwyrm. Having anything other than flowers stick to these areas is commonly found annoying as it is hard for them to dislodge the debris without damaging their precious bouquets.

In regards to flowers, many petalwyrms will have a preferred flower mostly related to the area in which they live, though some have preference for exotic blooms. They use their flowery dressings and homes to help disguise their scent from their prey, thus they love to cover themselves in as many flowers as they can tend to. Presentation is also very important to them, so only appealing blossoms will take a place in their arrangements.

A petalwyrm's claws are very important to them in the sense that they help them with their gardening - much more so than their hunting. Many petalwyrm prefer to use their claws only for trimming and cutting flowers, content to leave their hunting to their bite and ability to constrict their prey.  Clawless individuals will use tools or their teeth to tend to their gardens.

The diet of these creatures mainly consists of meat, though there are many cases when a petalwyrm may be omnivorous. Completely omnivorous petalwyrms are rare, despite the fact that many individuals do enjoy snacking on a particularly sweet fruit or flower every now and again (though plant consumption alone cannot support a petalwyrm for long).

Petalwyrms also have sensory organs on their necks in order to sense and track their prey. The areas are adept in sensing vibrations in the air and they are able to track unseen prey from hundreds of yards away. They are unlike snakes in the sense that their tongues cannot be used as suitable scenting tools, seeing as they can only pick up on the scents of flowers by flicking out their tongues.

Edit: I done messed up on the eyes section, though I was kinda half asleep when I put this together so ahaha whoops.
